Just wanted to know if I needed it or not. A lot more work if I do and I'd rather avoid it, but not at the expense of overheating. Thanks.

If you're going to be overclocking you might be safer to have one, and the 212 evo is a really good bang for your buck air cooler.
I don't get how it's a lot more work, unless how you're getting it is difficult, it takes a little longer than a stock cooler but it's not a crazy amount.
you will be ok unless you are aiming for crazy over clocking
