Why is it being bought on pccasegear? If you want if for gaming get the pentium with the msi pc mate and a 212 evo since a pentium will outperform a 6300 in gaming.and with that money saved get a better GPU.

Because its not just for gaming I'm going to be doing a little Video/Photo editing on adobe products aswell.

As AMD invests in its APU line there doesn't look to be any new processors that will be coming out on the AM3+ platform as it's set to be phased out next year. You could upgrade to a higher series FX chip if they decide to make any, but likely any new FX architectures would use AM4.

Here's some back and forth on it. I mostly just mention it in response to your goal of future-proofing. If you decide to go with it you'll probably still be quite happy with your system.

Since you intend to purchase from that store, consider the G.SKILL F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL with better specs at same costs instead.
