Christmas Gaming Build, $2000 Budget opinions needed

Hello all. Its been atleast 5 years since I have made a new gaming desktop and the time has come again to do so. My budget is around $2000 (a little wiggle room) so after some research this is what I was able to come up with.

Any suggestions are welcomed. From what I understand I may be better off going with a the 780 instead of the SLI 770 but im not too sure on this. Thanks again all have a happy holidays!

Here is a list I made for someone.

$1700, has one GTX970, you can use extra money to buy a monitor. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kimosabe/saved/ZMCgXL

Here are some recommendations for budget gaming monitors. skip to 2.05min. if you want to start seeing the list. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksBJ5UiTLcQ

Case: Enthoo Pro Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBhmn21ylkc You can change the extra fans to diff. brand if you want. Phanteks has different color fans like red if you want to color coordinate.

Are you trying to future-proof it with that CPU? And why not just get a GTX 970 and save money?

I was a bit outdated on GPU's so I will switch to the GTX 970. would you recommend a different CPU instead?

Intel Core i5-4690K.

+1. Unless you're doing CPU-intensive tasks like heavy Photoshop and rendering, the 4690k is just as good for gaming purposes.

Off-topic here but what are your thoughts on the Intel Pentium G3258? I've read some amazing things on it and it's shocking.

It has great OCing potential but do keep in mind it's only dual core, so don't use it for some big rig or something with a 970 or something.
