Get a Hyper 212 EVO, i'ts cheaper and will give you a TINY bit of OCing space if he wanted to do that.

Maybe lose the SSD? The 7200rpm HDD is plenty fast, unless you are dead set on getting the SSD. Also, if he can hold out on getting a new monitor, then you can remove that.

Good bang for your buck cooler.

Cheaper mobo.

More expensive ram, but it's faster and as high cas latency as you should go with 1600 ram.

Took out the ssd, if he wants one he can always put in one when he has the money.

Could have gone cheaper with the case, but i wanted one that was cheaper but I still knew to be decent.

Lower wattage power supply.

Cheaper wifi adapter.
