Hello all! I am looking to build a gaming computer and, as a computer noob, would be grateful for your opinions/advice. My desire is to have powerful graphics capability so I can run new games/flight sims on very high/maxed out settings. I'm currently only using 1 monitor (1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz); however, I'm planning on 3 monitors in the near future. At minimum, the monitors would be 1920 x 1080 but I'd like to keep my options open to upgrade to 4k. I figured I could add another GPU and RAM if needed.

My questions are: 1) What is this setup capable of? 2) What would need to be added/upgraded for a triple 4k setup? 3) What would you do differently?

Thanks in advance!

For 3 1080p monitors in games, the 980 might do it well... For 3 4k displays, your looking at an x99 board, 6+ core i7 or xeon, 32gb ram, and 4 gpus with 2 1000w psus, and even that might not do it... 4k is seriously demanding, and triple 4k is in the realm of full on graphic servers like the Nvidia Tesla systems...

4 titans might work too lol (there goes $5k in gpus...)

Wow...that would be a little over my budget lol. What's the maximum resolution monitor you think this would handle in a triple display setup? Would you recommend SLI with less expensive GPUs?

1080p on one 980,or 1440p on 2 980s or 3 970s (with all 3 monitors in the games of course)
