I'm aiming to do a build with this motherboard an i5-4690K, 8GB of Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A & a Corsair Carbide 300R case the rest of the components have been donated fom a friends old rig & will hopefully all be compatible:

Noctua NH-D14 Air Cooler, Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB Windforce 3x, 120GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD, 1TB Samsung HD753LJ, XFX Pro 750 PSU.

As this board is not listed on this site could people tell me if it would be suitable & compatible with everything else also if it is a good motherboard for overclocking, I appreciate there are better boards for this but my budget will not stretch to the high end boards.

(Apologies if I'm not making much sense, new to custom rig building)

AsRock Z77 Extreme4...i5-4690K...

  • Not compatible. No mobo using the Z77 chipset will support any of the current processors.
  • For listing of supported processors by that mobo, visit the mobo manufacturer's website for displayed list.
  • For support right out of the box, the Core i5-4690K typically requires a mobo with the Intel Z97 chipset.
