Replacing a gaming laptop-first ideas

kernow

My laptops graphics card decided to die leaving a near £300 price tag on its replacement. However due to its age and hard drive/battery conditions, im playing with the idea of cutting my losses with it and build a pc which can be repaired cheaper and easier with more financial safety.

So this would be my first pc build.Im at university so price is a concern, but my real aim is to build a pc with a long life span with the ability to be upgraded, and of course having a high standard of gaming capability. All advice wanted and needed !

You need a Z97 MOBO to pair with that 4690k and the RAM. Anyone will do, just find the best reviewed one.
