Opinions wanted! - First Build - Video Editing, Streaming, Gaming, and Portability.

Hi all,

This will be my first post so please do go easy on me!

This is the build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/LJMnx/saved/h3GV3C

This build will be used as it states in the title(for video editing, streaming, and gaming). The build is also compact to allow me to take it with me (by train) back home when I'm not at uni.

Ideally, I would like to keep the build price round £800 but I can push up to £850 if I really need to.

Parts that I would later on: another 8GB of ram. A 250GB SSD to put OS, programs, and games on there to enable faster loading times. a 230mm fan to help with airflow through the system. Another GTX 970 for further future proofing and graphical power.

Constructive Feedback will be appreciated. :)

If you wan't portability, perhaps mITX is for you, but that wouldn't allow you the future GPU upgrade. Hmmmmm

Yeah I was thinking about it, it may be cheaper as well. How futureproof will the system be if it was a mITX?

Equally. Al tough dependent on the case you might not be able to fit in big air coolers and/or big video cards.

Another thing to consider is the fact that some mITX cases ((cought)) Prodigy are bigger than some Micro ATX.

Right thanks both of you! I have had a play around with it and its came out like this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/LJMnx/saved/sr8zK8

There isn't a need to put a different cooler than the stock so that's not a problem and the gtx 970 should be able to fit in the case

What are your thoughts?

Looks great. Although the MOBO might be on the cheap side.

The 1X8GB could be quite slow, but I'm not sure if you'd care.

Cheers! I have updated it here: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/RXLFpg I can also change the SSD for an extra 8GB of Ram?

But I must say that I'm not really won over by mITX due to the lack of adding parts, so what are your thoughts on the mATX build?

It maybe more expensive to go with mATX but it does give me that freedom down the road. I'm just trying to weigh it all up!

Also, mATX should be small enough for me since my bag that I use should be able to fit an ATX mid tower with a few other bits and pieces. I just prefer to have the best of both worlds with the mATX due to later upgrades. So any advice in terms of mATX? or things that I should I change?

Also thank you for your input :)
