This is my current build. I wanted to go with a single gtx 980 and upgrade with a 2nd one later, preferably once they drop a bit in price. However, thinking long and hard, by time I'd need/want to upgrade, the next best thing will be out and I'll be drooling over that instead seeking to up my performance with already ancient hardware. Also, I wanted a g-sync monitor. Badly. Just a bit too pricey I suppose, at this point.

I want to know if anyone can recommend better fans? If I'm going to drop 130USD on fans, they better be decent. I would enjoy it if they were red LED fans, as well. I refuse to use noctua until they give the crowd aesthetic options!

Any and every comment will be appreciated, thanks!

I was expecting a i7-extreme CPU/x99 chipset mobo with DDR4 RAM at that budget, although with those peripherals, I suppose it makes sense.

Does that cooler come with the thermal paste? If not, you need to add that.

You could save a little bit getting 2x8 GB RAM.

The PSU is really expensive. You could get a 850W Supernova G2 psu for a lot less: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20850x

Can't say anything about the case fans- I'm using the ones that came with my case still (not silent, but I've yet to be bothered by them)

I mostly game and will be doing some streaming. While the new chipset would be nice, I'd like to see the premium of "New" go down a bit and see what improvements they make to the socket in their upcoming iterations. It also wouldn't really do anything for me for my intended use.

I am unsure if the cooler comes with its own thermal paste but I can easily grab a tube, thanks for the suggestion! I didn't really didn't think of it!

One game I play the most can poorly utilize 4.5gb of ram, and estimate something like 2gb for Windows, I'm not left with enough for streaming and such. 8gb has really slowed down previous builds while trying to stream, so I'd like to stick with 16gb!

I like seasonic, and regard it as the best power supply maker. It got amazing reviews from Johnny guru and I LOVE that the unit itself doesn't have any ugly marking on it while the cables all being black, instead,of the red/yellow/white mixture. I will, however take a look at some others and seen if I can shave a few dollars off, as the cases PSU shroud would cover anything ugly anyway!

Yeah, I'm hoping these fans won't be too loud and will work well enough that they can be turned down to be even more quiet.

Thanks for the response!

2x8 GB is 16Gb. You currently have 4x4 gb in your build.

2x8 = 16 4x4 = 16

Your point?

That I wasn't suggesting that they should only get 8 gb like they seemed to think I was: " 8gb has really slowed down previous builds while trying to stream, so I'd like to stick with 16gb!"

I see your point! It'd save a few dollars. For the aesthetic/OCD person in me, I'll leave it at 4x4.

I thought about some of your points, especially about the x99 platform. I came up with this build. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
