Light strategy gaming (Aoc) and coding build

Hi Folks, this is my first attempt at creating a build for my system. I am trying not to spend extra as my needs are only playing AOC (doesnt require extensive graphics) and some coding (visual studio)

Please share comments and feedback! Here is my list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/p_meet/saved/CnxWGX

Currently my setup is connecting Carbon Lenavo lappy using thinkpad doc to external keyboard and monitor. It lags though(dont know why even though config of carbon lenavo laptop is great)

You should be using a 1150 Haswell socket in 2014. i5 4430 or if you're going to overclock i5-4690K

Hitachi 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM (Seagate HDD are really common to fail, Hitachi is lowest in drive failure) https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-update-september-2014/

I think integrated graphics should work good with most strategy games.

If you're gonna get a GPU then you need a bigger PSU.

Motherboard should be 1150 with Z97 or H97 chipset, something like this ASRock Z97M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard within 100 dollar pricerange is good

Yes on the socket 1150, but while integrated graphics will run most strategy games, they do benefit from discrete gpus. Seagate failure was most common a few years ago due to a firmware issue that has been resolved, from what I've read.

Thanks lordJsmith. I have edited the part list. The processor you suggested is even cheaper ( i dont understand why though). Any more comments before i place an order. Another unrelated questions is going to frys and buying this stuff vs ordering separately ?
