  • M.2 SSD for Lightroom & PS cache.
  • 2 840 Evo's in Raid 0 for Lightroom catalogs.
  • 3rd Evo for OS & apps.
  • 2 HDs Raid 0 for photos and data.
  • Back-up and archiving will be external.
  • Overclocking

I require fast I/O access to load, develop and export large lightroom catalogs. Thoughts?

5820k cpu, x99 mobo. some x99 mobo come with wifi card built in as well as bluetooth built in so you would not have to buy separate.

what about a video card?

since you are going to overclock you need 850w-1000w. I suggest EVGA G2 1000watts (tier 1 quality) and about same price as your current psu.

Thanks kimosabe for the reply. If I go with X99 I will need video card, but will need extra cash. Intel graphics is sufficient for my work. If I overclock a 4790K to around 4.4 will need 850 to 1000 wattage? The partpicker wattage calculator indicates 285w, so I think that with 500w I am covered.

You'll be fine with the PSU you've got, though at that price you could get a 750/850W EVGA G2 80+ Gold fully modular PSU and be covered for any possible future GPU expansions

You are correct on that. Thanks. I will consider. The only reason chose rosewill psu is that it is fanless.I will put the pc below the living room coffee table since is the only place I have left (three children) and I need it to be quite. However, I don't know if the increased temp in the psu will make other parts temp to increase thus make other fans to speed more and actually gain nothing.
