Hello Guys, I built this PC about a year ago:

And now I want to upgraded so that I can manage some video files from a RED Epic at 4k "smoothly". Which components do you recommend me to buy or upgrade? I dont have RAID, which RAID setup would you recommend me? Thanks and happy new year, Nico

If your using RED, then this pc is pretty weak by most people's standards... I mean ya, it can edit, but people using RED gear usually have top dollar for pro level workstations... Whats your budget for this? Oh, and what software you using?

For those that don't know, RED is James Camerons company that specializes in movie studio level camera systems... The Epic is around $20k starting price...

Thanks! It is not James Cameron, its name is James Jannard (He founded Oakley also)

Well I mean, a Mac Pro can run RED files, how can I compete with that.

Software: Premiere Pro CC, Davinci Resolve.

Without moving to a Haswell-E platform, you can add 16GB of RAM, and then add another HDD and a RAID card for RAID 5.
