Going SLI, Want Input

rellissc

I am just swapped out my GTX 780 with a EVGA GTX 970 FTW Ref ( put on my parts list as a EVGA GTX970 SC, since it is the most similar in terms of specs).

Im am wanting to go SLI with another 970, but that requires a new motherboard (I have a MSI z87-g41 that doesnt support SLI)

Are there any pratfalls with my new setup? Im most worried about power supply being able to supply adequate power for an SLI rig.

Is there a better motherboard for my purposes? I use this PC for gaming, game development, 3d modelling, and photoshop. I also am using the oculus rift.

Thanks!
