Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory £43.52

Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £49.75

Asus Radeon R9 270 2GB DirectCU II Video Card £119.98

Zalman ZM-T4 MicroATX Mini Tower Case £0.00 Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply £37.19

Lite-On iHDS118-04 DVD/CD Drive £9.58

Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit) £78.59

Looks ok, I'd change a few things tho

Most folks seem to say w8.1 is better to use than plain 8, a little cheaper too

xfx made by seasonic, who are one of the premier psu manufacturers, is actually cheaper than the corsair which is made by a more budget oriented company called cwt who don't have a great rep

If you get a cheaper hdd you'll be able to get a 60gig ssd for a boot drive, prolly wont be able to fit many games on it but as long as you have windows installed there it'll really speed up the whole system

ram latency is a little high, but I've kinda ran out of budget room... you could always drop the sdd to improve the ram I guess...

ssd build (tho if you get a cheaper 270 you could prolly get the ram upgrade and keep the ssd) -

The first parts list is $20 more than your $500 budget, but it has an i5 processor, and there are some games out like Far Cry 4 that won't even allow you to start them unless you have a 4 core processor. The second parts list uses an i3 processor but a better GPU so you ran run most of the games on Ultra settings without noticing much FPS drops. Finally the third parts list is what I would build since most games coming out now need atleast 2gb of GPU Ram, as well as a 4 core CPU. This build is about $40 more than the listed budget, but this is the build that will allow the best playing experience. I got you a 1TB hard drive for less than the 500GB drive you had listed. I changed the disk drive so you can burn CD's and DVD's for and extra pound. I picked a 500 Watt PSU because it was less than $1 more.
