Necessary cpu cooler?

I'm not overclocking... Is a CPU cooler necessary? The CPU is a Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core.

If so, anything to suggest? This is my first time at PC building.

An aftermarket CPU cooler is not - it comes with a cooler though that works fine. After you install it, check the temps and make sure they're acceptable.

Ok thanks a lot!

Not mandatory. Many still do since decent aftermarket coolers lower the noise level when processor is under load.

You won't need it if you don't over clock, but they can be great to have.
