Hello all,

My goal with this PC is to run WoW on Ultra settings while getting a steady 60+ FPS (I will be using Skype while playing as well - don't know how much that will affect things). Will this build allow me to do that?

This is my first PC that I'm building myself, and this is the higher end of my budget. If there are any recommendations/changes that you all feel would be appropriate, please let me know. I will be ordering all of the parts in about 10 days.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer!

Thank you for your input! Just curious (since I am inexperienced when it comes to this stuff) - what would make your setup perform a lot better?

I know that feel bro. I'm currently playing WoW on my macbook air and I have to use lowest settings and only get 20 fps. That's why I'm gonna build a gaming pc next month for myself. I'm pretty sure you're build can run on ultra settings for WoW. You should check how many fans your case comes with cuz you may need more fans or quieter fans. Noctua are the quietest fans. Also maybe pick out a heat sink, not sure how good the one it comes with is. There are some good CPU coolers for like 30 bucks.

Yeah, I'm in a very similar situation currently! Haha - good luck with your build!

Thanks for the advice on the fans - I have been told that if I'm not over-clocking, I shouldn't need a CPU cooler. Are you recommending that just to be safe, or do you think it's necessary?

Awesome, great advice!

I have the GTX 760 as my card in the build right now - do you think an AMD r9 280 or 280x would be better?

Thank you again for your help.

I hate to be a bother, but I am very inexperienced with this stuff. How do I go about enabling the XMP profile for my RAM, and is that even possible with the RAM I have in my build?
