Building a computer for a friend

My only worry is that this CPU cooler will not be sufficient for the i5. Is this cooler okay or should i upgrade? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/hunternental/saved/77WPxr

The cooler will definetly be enough for that processor, as long as overclocking isn't taken to extreme. I have the same i5 CPU and cooler on my build and it maxes around 50 degrees while gaming on stock speeds. I had it overclocked to 4.4 GHz on Prime 95 and it was getting around 80 celcius, which is still safe, but too high for my liking.

Thanks for the reply! So your saying (if i weren't to overclock) I'd be perfectly safe good to go? I wouldn't need to waste 30$ extra on a Phanteks dual cooler?

Even if you do overclock to around 4.2 or 4.3GHz you will be fine. Prime95 is the absolute worst case scenario for temperatures as it loads the CPU its max capability.
