Helping a friend build a computer for him with an $800 budget.

I have a friend that is looking to get a new desktop, and I convinced him to think about building one instead of buying a pre-built one. He will use it mostly for graphic design type stuff, but he also games a bit as well.

I'm not exactly sure what the best hardware for this price range would be, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go with this instead. Your original build looked pretty solid to me in the other areas, so I only changed two things.

I5 cpu because it'll be better for everything he's doing.

16gb of ram will help with his graphic design stuff.
