I currently have a 3570k @ 4.2 and a MSI Twin Frozr 7850 gpu that I have had for a year now. Looking to upgrade the GPU at some point. I really don't plan to spend anything more then like $250 because I really don't game enough to spend gtx 770 money. So would upgrading from a 7850 to like a 7870 XT be pointless?? Also, I am interested in the GTX 760 or 7950. But since the 7xxx series are getting old and at some point the 8xxx should be released is it worth while?

Thanks for any help

i think you should get a gtx 760 which just came out three days ago. it compares in performance to the gtx 670. hope it helped...oh and it costs 250

The Gtx 670 is actually a little ahead of the 760, It competes with radeon 7950, just so you know. :)

well yes it is technically slightly better in benchmarks...but in real world scenarios your not going to see that much of a difference.
