Motherboard compatibility

I have a relatively old cpu (amd phenom 2 x4 955) on a Asia m4a78l-m. I'm looking to upgrade my mobo and keep my cpu. However I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer on whether 1) this cpu can run ddr3 2) this cpu can be used on a am3+ socket

I've tried researching but most Internet forum threads are well over 3 years old. And pcpartpicker does not have it listed so I can't easily find the right mobo

However I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer on...

And you never will, since the processor and memory support will depend on the mobo. For standard mobos, check the mobo manufacturer's product page for specifications and supported list. For OEM mobos, check the system manufacturer's website or contact the manufacturer directly.
