I also have a SATA 7200 rpm HDD and 4 DDR3 ram sticks. Will the psu i already dicked be enough? Any suggestion if not? Thanks!
Check the watts calculator below
it recommend ~380w but just the GTX 970 takes 500w http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970/specifications
i'm a bit confused :/
The GPU does not use 500w itself, that's the recommended minimum requirement for a basic system with that card in it... Grab a 600w or preferably a 650w for best results.
ok thank you so much!
That's a reference GTX 970 card right ?
Get a 650 or 750w PSU.
yes it is, i'll probably go for this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-power-supply-rs650amaab1us
Why are you getting that card ?
Get cards like MSI GTX 970, gigabyte g1 or EVGA ftw card.
Get one of these PSU...80+ gold rated full & semi modular PSU.
the EVGA one seems ok, the first is too expensife for my budget. I choose the reference 970 because it has to look nice since i'll probably buy a side panel case (i really dislike the other manufacturers design) and it's just ~20$ more expensive. Thanks a lot for the help btw!
