how format unix operating system and install windows?

i have a old system with unix os on it..now i would like to install windows xp on it. how to do it?

We will presume "old system" refers to an x86-based computer, and not something weird like a Sun SPARCstation.

If you don't want to preserve the UNIX install, simply boot off the WIndows install DVD. The installer will ask you where you want to install Windows. Point it at the drive and tell it to use the entire drive, overwriting everything that's already there.
