BIOS update for the motherboard question

On my build I made it says "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs." How would one do a BIOS update on a newly made PC? Any links or advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

  • There are no universal/set standard for a BIOS update procedure.
  • Download/read the mobo manual for the procedure for mobo in question.

this am3+ mobo will work with every FX cpu available without a bios update as it is the newest am3+ mobo.

If the motherboard isn't compatible with an specific cpu, you would need an older compatible cpu to do the bios update. Some motherboards will let you update without cpu but most not.
