Front Panel Usb -Novice Question

So this might seem like a stupid question, but are the front panel usb ports the only ports that I can use? I feel like they aren't because most cases have 2 usb 3.0 (no room for a USB stick if you are using mouse and keyboard.) Will somebody please clarify? Do they have back panel ports that you can plug your peripherals into?

no, the ports on the case front panel aren't the only ones you can use. mouse/keyboard generally go in the usb ports on back of your motherboard.

Ohhhhhh... That makes more sense. How do you connect it, does the case have back ports?

the case will have wires coming from the front panel connectors. the USB goes into the internal usb connector on your motherboard. this is how they look: http://i.imgur.com/kn6J1L5.jpg

usb 2.0 the small one on the left and usb 3.0 the long one on the right.
