Hyper 212x thoughts on it?

I'm using this CPU cooler with stock thermal paste and idle temp is 42C and room temp is usually around 30-40C (I live in hot place) is it fine? Since Idle temp does really seem high :P

And what are your thoughts on this cooler? Hyper Evo/Noctua fans is out of stock in my country had to go with this, since I don't like water/liquid cooling. What temp would I get under load? My chip is i7 4790k and case is CM storm scout 2.

IMHO 212x is just an updated 212 evo. Minor tweaks to the heatsink and an updated fan.

Idle temps are high, but since you live in an area where the ambient temperature is a bit higher than average, your idle temps are okay in a sense.

Under a regular rendering/ gaming load, you can probably see temps of between 60-80C. I cannot tell for sure since you never said what kinds of overclocks you are running on the processor.

My CPU hasn't been overclocked yet. All things are just out of the box new nothing changed or overclocked.

I heard people say temps don't get higher than 60-65C here with that cooler even under load in my temps. I know 212x is basically 212evo only. But in my country Evo costs more and is right now out of stock.

I think room temperature here is like 25C right now, and my CPU with an H100i liquid cooler sits at ~32-34C idle/browsing. Used to be 21/22C when room temperature was like 17/18.

So yeah it seems just fine I guess of me having around only 5-10C higher temp of CPU compared to room temp considering it's a heatsink fan cooler.

I was worried for a while about my idle temp :P
