Im building a boss pc but it can't be water cooled because of the corsair 380t and i will be moving it frequently
Moving it frequently leads to a small, squat air cooler to reduce the chance of forces from the cooler breaking the motherboard.
Possibly something like: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhl9x65
the 5960x is a cpu with a TDP of 140 watts, don't think its a good idea to use a cooler rated for 84 watts.. eventhough the case takes coolers up to 150mm tall its definitely not a good idea if its going to be constantly moving, but another thing to consider is that the motherboard is mounted horizontally and not vertically. I think if moved with care considering the way its mounted, it should be ok (but I may be wrong)
But like Jacobs said he can mount a 240mm rad like the nepton 240m which honestly is the best option.
Ah, right. Forgot about that TDP limit. Been looking at it for use on a G3258 and just completely forgot about that.
Moved with care should work, but it's one of those "you'll eventually become overconfident and then whoops..." situations.
But yea, water cooling should be fine... No idea why he said it wouldn't work; maybe he thought custom loops?
You realize that you could easily fit a water cooler in the 380t, right? A 240mm AIO like the Cooler Master Nepton 240M would be your best bet.
