How do I connect my graphics card connectors?

Some of my 6 and 8 pin connectors came with one or two pins missing on the actual connector and my friend says this is normal, how do I know which ones to install? My graphics card is an MSI R9 280x

As long as the cables have 6 or 8 ports, they're fine to plug into their respective GPU positions.

Don't worry, where the pins are missing, the wire that leads into it is also missing, this turned out to be manafacturing design, as the psu doesn't need that pin to deliver full power

you put the 6+2 in the 8 pin, and the 6 part of the other in the 6 pin, both are necessary.
