Build Guide

Core i5-4690K / Radeon R9 290X Gaming PC

NOTE: A more recent version of this guide is available here.

Description

For our latest build video we put together an Intel Core i5-4690K based gaming PC. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0Zh4Zot95s. In the $1000-1100 price range, this build is a solid value for a gaming system.

Newegg has kindly put together a combo deal with the same parts we used in the video (with the exception that they also upgraded the hard drive from a Western Digital Caviar Blue to a Western Digital Caviar Black):

The Intel Core i5-4690K is an outstanding CPU that is easily overclocked for additional performance. We included a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to help keep temperatures low.

The NZXT S340 is solidly built case that is fantastic to work with. Cable management is a breeze - with plenty of room to route cables, plenty of wire tie points, and a power supply shroud to hide the excess. This is our second build video with the S340, so I was very excited to get to build in it again.

Hope you enjoy the video - let us know what you think!
