from completed build Stratos - The Windows 7 Throwback Build
Extremely loud, though this might just be how optical drives generally were (i haven't used one in a desktop in over a decade), also surprisingly noisy at idle if there's a disk inside not actively being used. I do also wish these manufacturers could at least black out the exterior on modern examples. These REALLY stick out in even remotely modern systems.
from completed build Oberon Blues
That sure is a Disc Drive! It rips CDs, it plays my music, there's nothing else I need. A+.
from completed build Home Build 2022
Simple DVD reader/writer. No bells or whistles. Just a DVD reader/writer. Reasonable price.
from completed build My first build; upgraded
It's an optical disk drive. There's not much to say about it. It does make an odd noise when the PC is powered on, but it's not loud or anything.
from completed build Humongous VRM heatsink for the worse.
Re-using old parts from 4+ years ago.
from completed build First PC
Got this as a joke for my build. Works well actually and is a pretty solid DVD drive.
from completed build My first PC build
why not? the drive works, reads, probably writes, I haven't checked. it does make an odd noise when the pc is turned on, or when the drive is closed, but it doesn't bother me.
from completed build Gaming and Productivity PC!
Great for burning media, and lets me write cd's for my radio.
from completed build Customer Rig #34: A build for my professor?
Well, it reads the disks. It sounds like a demon while doing so, but I think that's just a characteristic of all disk drives, so I'm not docking a star for that.
