Superb build quality plus wonderful aesthetics. Has all the basic features I need and more from an mATX motherboard. Perfect for a black/white themed build.
The only white LGA1151 MATX board I could find to go with the color scheme. One potential downside is a red LED on the board that I can't seem to turn off. Kind of clashes with the color scheme, but not enough to reduce the rating.
Just like any other MB but it is white, thats why I bought it. You can honestly buy a cheaper one that performs better. Beware that you cannot overclock with this motherboard.
Updating this review to 3 stars due to a faulty USB 3.1 header(was missing a pin so only 1 port worked). It's a 5 star board other than that, I'm just salty :P
This motherboard looks amazing and when you consider all of the features this motherboard has and the build quality, the premium you're paying for the aesthetics is only an extra $5-10(my price has 7% sales tax included).
This motherboard was a good move by MSI and especially perfect for single GPU builds. Most of the "flashy" looking motherboards like this are based on the Z series chipsets and cost a lot more money(or the even more expensive x99). Not everyone has the money to spend on one of those, and nobody wants to pay for a bunch of features if they don't need them. This motherboard is the perfect fusion of looks, functionality and value. If you don't plan on overclocking your CPU or RAM you don't need a Z170, and if you don't need all the extra ports or RAID you don't need an H170. Did I also mention this motherboard has THREE 4-pin system fan headers? I was also happy to see that the M.2 slot supports both PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA interfaces(but using it does limit the functionality of the bottom PCIe x16 slot). The main PCIe x16 slot is also reinforced with metal, which is a nice touch.
Overall, very happy with this purchase. I would recommend this to anybody who wants a good looking motherboard with plenty of features for a nice gaming rig, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money.
Comes with lots of helpful programs and all the ports are clearly labled
Very pleasing aesthetic but there is a little problem, the BIOS puts the RAM at 2133Mhz at default, even at XMP, the RAM doesn't go higher than that. I think a BIOS update would fix that. Other than that, don't have a problem with it.
