A quality modular PSU for this price point is pretty nice, but will be a bit lacking. The hybrid fan thing is pretty nice, since that + my fan controller means that my computer is almost dead silent when I'm not doing anything intensive. However, the cords in this PSU don't really like to stay put - I first slid the PSU back into the case with no cables in, but then I couldn't connect any since the PSU space in this case is too cramped. I then took it out, firmly plugged in what I needed, and then slid it back in there... and the CPU cable had popped out of the PSU. It took me a while to get done, and probably isn't the best route to go for a first build.
Amazing. Seasonic rebrand. Need I say more?
Essentially a 650W SeaSonic G-series (actually is). High quality capacitors, premium product packaging, and nice, quality black cables for a clean look.
80Plus Gold. Seasonic OEM
According to multiple PSU rankings this classes as a Tier 1 psu. The hybrid fan mode is nice for a bit of added silence at cooler temps. However some of the provided cables don't plug in properly to the psu, had to reconnect the motherboard cables.
Works well, has plenty of cables and the hybrid fan mode works well.
Plenty of muscle for my needs and the fans are totally unnoticable in Hybrid mode, and the provided modular cables are both long and plentiful.
Just wish there were 6+2 cables with only one header on them, as they look a bit ugly with the spare hanging off.
It does its job flawlessly and it handles discharging with ease. Very nice to work with, but reaching in for the furthest plugs can be hard if you don't have spider hands like I do. It also comes with 2-end and 4-end molex cables and 2 4-port SATA cables, but only one two-port, which can make management difficult. There is also no single-plug PCI-E. :c
