A solid board that looks good, but absolutely no new features from the Z270 version, in fact it actually loses features like front panel Type C and RGB headers.
Great compact motherboard, great bios and great OC features.
Great motherboard: compact size, solid build quality and very nice ASUS-typical design. Oddly, no RGB header.
No flair, It's black, and it's a high end Asus, so, it just works. RGB logo does a color cycle when in sleep. White is off white blue, blocked by full size graphics cards, can be turned off entirely. From what I've seen it's not the best overclocking motherboard, but it sure as hell gets the job done, otherwise I have an average CPU. 8700K, 4.9, 1.335 vcore.
Looks fantastic, easy to install, but had an issue getting ASUS Aura to work right. Had to download, reinstall a ton of times, and turn off fast boot (this solved it) in order for it to work. That's my only knock for this product.
The Asus ROG Z370-G Wifi is after changing the Wireless-Card fully hackintosh compatible.
It´s a great mainboard with a lot of connections.
the only problem what I found was the high temperature of the PCIe M2 Slot for my SSD in combination with the graphic-card. The hot air from the GPU goes directly over the SSD and the SSD get more that 77°C.
After I purchased this motherboard.. I did my research. I was doing it all wrong, I know.. but I have been an ASUS user for years and didn't expect that a couple of days after buying it I would see a torrent of negative reviews for this board.
However, now it's installed and I've been using it for just under a month.. I cannot complain. The board is solid. It gets a little on the warm side when I play games, but there's no concern in the temperatures.
The only downsides to this board concern the lack of a rear IO enclosure (this doesn't effect me so much as my AIO covers the back corner of the board), and the RGB on this board being terribly lacklustre. It doesn't bother me too much, but others looking for fancy RGB lighting would probably want to give this board a miss.
As mid-high spec mATX motherboards (with integrated WiFi) are few and far between for Z370, this board was one of, if not, the best choice out there.
Happy with it.
very straight forward BIOS and set-up
