I was able to get this monitor for ~$139usd shipped right after Black Friday. I previously had an ASUS VE247H (2ms 60hz) and I didnt see a massive difference aside from the brightness. If i didn't get the monitor for less than a normal 60hz monitor goes for, I would personally say its not really worth the extra cash.
Great picture for a TN panel. Super-responsive and 100+fps looks smoother than butter.
Uses same panel as the cheapest 144Hz 1ms Asus monitor, if you want alternatives. Stand looks cool with two-tone black and red, and you wouldn't believe it, but it's super solid. Doesn't adjust really.
I am basing my review upon what this monitor IS and what it DOES not in comparison to other monitors.
Great value, great performance, NO dead pixels (none), NO BSOD( blue screen of death).
No display port, no lightboost, no speakers, glossy finish on the edges, very bright
I DONT GIVE A CRAP about those things though.
This monitor is great for gamers who just need a no frills powerhouse machine.
It doesn't have light boost: I don't care because I have not experienced tearing, stuttering or ghosting.
This monitor doesn't have speakers: I don't care because I use headphones, PC speakers.
Very bright: This monitor is very bright don't get me wrong. This is the only thing i would say is worrying me for other users. I don't care about this because i don't get headaches and i actually like bright monitors.
No displayport: This means game will run at a max resolution of 1920x1080p. I don't mind this. I play FPS games like BF4, Evolve etc and want the best possible FPS. any higher resolutions and i would have gotten another monitor model for sure. Like i said earlier this monitor for me is what I will use until i get 1440p 144mhz 1ms gtg IPS Freesync monitor.
Please feel free to ask me any questions about this monitor. It is my main monitor and i use it every day!
This is the crowning bargain. 100 dollars off thanks to a little bit of craigslist shopping. Practically new, still had all the plastic on it.
Anyway, it’s a fantastic monitor. 144 Hz of 1080p goodness. I spent like 5 minutes just moving the mouse around while noticing how smooth it was. I don’t know why people crap all over TN panels, the colors are fine and I’m not going to be using it at a 45 degree viewing angle.
this is the best monitor specs for the cost and it looks really good.
While I didn't expect too much in terms of improvements from 60 to 144z the difference is noticeable and welcomed not to mention the colors and quality look great. No dead pixels or anything else. The Two main flaws to this monitor are the on screen menus which are terrible and the fact that there is no adjustability, but, thankfully, it is VESA compatible which should fix some of those complaints.
Nice for the money (Got two and was able to get them under $200 each).
Docked a star because 144Hz is ONLY available via the DVI port and there is no Display Port.
Pros: 1920x1080, 144hz, 1ms, Good color. Cons: Mine shipped with like 1000 dead pixels.
144hz are awesome, I love it! Colors are good and 1080p is enough in my opinion
I got this on sale for $150, and oh was it worth it. This monitor is incredibly smooth at 144Hz and I havent experienced any screen tearing. Cheapest 144Hz monitor on the market, but extremely good quality.
