NVME drives are the future! SATA SSD drives are so 2016!

Lightning quick. Worked flawlessly with my Mobo, is super small and once on the motherboard it looks like it's a part of the Motherboard. Hoping the prices drop on these so I can add more!

After the CPU, this was the most important piece to my build. I wanted the 960 EVO and no other drive was acceptable. I intended to purchase the 250GB version but I could not find it anywhere. Everyone is out of stock and Amazon states it will ship within 1-2 months! I found a third party seller on Amazon that had the 500 GB version in stock. I paid more than double the cost of the 250GB version. The speed on this thing is unreal! Max Read is 3200 MB/s and max write is 1900 MB/s. The popular 850 EVO specs are 540 MB/s Read and 520 MB/s Write. Make sure your mobo can use m.2 slot using PCIe x4. This is use all 4 lanes which was use speeds of 32 GB/s. My mobo has the option to set the speed to PCIe x2 (max 16 GB/s) and SATA (Max 6 GB/s)

Amazingly fast. What a machine. Wokred as OS boot device on my Asrock Z270 mobo.

The Samsung 960 Evo NVMe M.2 SSD as the OS drive is awesome. So worth the extra $100. I can't go back to a SATA SSD after that. Boot time from power off is 3 seconds. I can copy 1.5 hours of 720p video in 1 second.

Stupid fast. Bit expensive.

What an absolute BEAST! Windows boots in 6 seconds from start to finish. Big enough to install all my main games. PC is super quick really happy with it.

Great price for an NVMe, especially one of this capacity, some people said it was touchy and tended to break, but I saw NONE of those issues with this, great buy!

I have installed the operating system on this SSD. - It's also crazy fast but not as fast as the 1TB one.

Sequential read 2826 MB/s / Sequential write 1729 MB/s

Holy damn, that thing is fast. Based on the type of machine you are building this might be something you want to go for. It outperforms my EVO 850 by a factor of 5 easily. That being said, there are games and applications which can't really profit from those speeds, so don't assume it heals every slowrunner on your system.
