I was originally going to get the R5 1600 but then I found out that the Zen+ cpu's were coming out in a months time so I decided to hold off for them, i'm happy with my choice of cpu here, even though I'll never use the full potential its nice to know I have it.

XFR2 basically eliminates the need for most people to overclock. Feel free to let your beastly CPU handle itself :)

This processor has been a beast with everything I've thrown at it. Since it has 16 threads, I'm able to allocate way more resources to VMs than I was previously able to.

Great Performance. Get the X model after having also the 2700 which what's giving issues of stability overclocking to 4.2.

Brilliant. Great stock cooler

I may be biased as this is my first high-end CPU, but so far there isn't anything I've come against that this CPU couldn't handle even with its lower clock speed than its rivaling coffee lake CPU. I made quite a leap from a 4-core, 4-thread i5-6600K to an 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 2700X, but did not expect such massive performance gains. The CPU doesn't even hit 50% load when streaming 1080p 60fps footage at 6000kb/s to Twitch. I haven't done any course-based work since upgrading but I imagine it'll handle that just as well and significantly increase my workflow.

Amd's newest cpu can handle all that I throw at it. The precision boost 2 does a good job with handling all my tasks without overclocking.

Really good cpu. It was really simple to overcloack with the asus rog strix x470-f motherboard.

This thing is a beast for its price. AMD really is value king and it's no more evident than with the latest Ryzen. Are you gonna get 5.0 Ghz overclocks? No. But for the price on the tin, you get 16 threads, some really nice improvements to the tech over first gen Ryzen, and hell they even include a damn good stock cooler. Absolutely no regrets.

An excellent Powerful CPU! I like the fact that it comes with the Wraith Prism RGB Fan. No need for me to buy an extra cooling part for my CPU, so I saved on that, and best of all the fan is RGB! No need to buy Thermal Paste as it already comes with it pre-applied. This CPU is excellent for those who want overclocked speeds but without doing manual overclocking yourself, no need to break the warranty there. It does automatic overclocking for you in a sense that the clock speed ranges from 3.7 to 4.3 GHz. When I ran Ryzen Master, most of the time it says I'm at 4.0 GHz. When idle it goes down to 3.7, which really make sense. It comes with a Fan connector, an RGB connector, and a USB connector. Not sure what the USB connector is for. The manual that came with it did not say anything about it. I found out later on that I don't really need it. So just connect the Fan and the RGB. Manual is lacking in information and some instructions for beginners but you can always go to YouTube to learn how to install it properly. I really liked this CPU and I highly recommend it.
