This processor is the one to buy for gaming purpose. i7 is really overkill. Keep your money for GPU.

Great i5 CPU; only a little faster than the skylake 6600K but at a similar price I decided to go with the latest and greatest.

Best i5 in the market !

Sergio_UKR 18 points 20 months ago

Felt like 7700k was an overkill for my needs. At 1440p resolution GPU is more often a bottleneck than a CPU. Runs smooth and cool, easily overclocks. What else do you need for a gaming PC? )

No problems whatsoever and it goes fast for the right price

Good CPU. I realize not much has changed performance wise in Kaby-lake, but why not just buy the newest thing when its only 10 bucks more than the old one?

CPU works. Wanted to wait for Ryzen but I couldn't wait any longer. So yeah..

Easy to overclock; best value for your money, if you're looking to upgrade to Kaby lake.

JakeEmerson 10 points 19 months ago

Awesome even at base clock speeds, game performance is superb. Although probably not worth an upgrade if you already have a 6600k, I've heard that Kaby lake isn't a huge jump.

Got it for $219 at Microcenter, and IMO you can't go better than that for a CPU that will run damn near any current game without breaking a sweat. It's reported as being good for overclocking, but I almost don't need to do that when I'm getting a rock steady 4.5GHz without touching a single setting! Amazing.
