This is a bit expensive, as I’ve found that a fully modular PSU is an unnecessary “convenience.” Non-modular can sometimes be frustrating. Semi-modular is the sweet spot. However, it is 80+ platinum and fan less. Both of which led me to this choice. FPS Group also has probably the best low-power efficiency. At the time of my original build, I was struggling to tap 100W at full stress testing, only 25% of this PSU. Being fan less means it relies on proper case airflow for ventilation. That is part of the reason for my 14cm side intake fan. Even though it is only a 400W PSU, I think it can handle the added draw from upgrading to a GTX960, as I estimate it will only draw an additional max of 60-80W. Either PC Part Picker or manufacturers overestimate power consumption from their components, but I’m not sure why. Here are my measurements;

Idle: 40W

Active (2 HDDs running): 60W

Gaming: 130W

Prime95: 130W

Furmark: 140W

Full Stress Test (4 HDDs running, and charging my phone): 200W

PC Part Picker: 314W

A fanless PSU with platinum certification at a reasonable price.

PSUs circuits normally produces a hum. In the case of Seasonic 400, hum is barely audible and this is a huge pro for a funless device, which is supposed to be quite!
