Good lord, I don't know if it was just my luck or not, but this thing is a fat hunk of garbage. It runs crazy hot even with a good 120mm AIO and decent thermal paste for one. Secondly, it took like three days of fiddling in BIOs just to get this thing to boot. When I did finally get it to boot it ran most things decently better than my FX-6300, but it stuttered like crazy. You would have a solid 90-100 frames and it would drop to 3 fps for a few seconds and jump back up. It always did that no matter what graphics level or game it was. I was also forced to underclock it and up the voltage or it would simply not run. It gets 2 stars cuz its better than FX-6300 slightly.

8 cores of factory overclocked heat producing goodness. Kills any game I throw at it even with today's AAA titles. Boost to 5Ghz when needed.

Very fast CPU, but runs very hot. Brilliant CPU, runs very fast, and with 8 cores at 4.7GHz, it can tackle pretty much anything you throw at it. Normally i am more inclined towards the Blue side, but team Red have really done a good job here. For an Octacore at such a high GHz, the price is to die for - absolutely brilliant. Now onto the matter of the heat - it runs very hot, especially when you overclock it (cant see why youd need to). It is also quite a power hog, at 220W. However, a custom loop or an AIO can more than sort this out (id reccommend the custom loop).

AMD's crowning AM3+ achievement. Kills any game I throw at it as well as my electric bill. Make sure to keep this thing properly cooled (high end air or water) and an ultra durable and capable mother board. Do some homework and make sure it will work and not melt the VRM chips.

Pretty good processor for the price, definitely recommend for cheap gaming build.
