from completed build My "budgeter" Ivy Bridge build
TL;DR: Impressive GPU in 2023, especially at ~$50, and probably for another few years to come, even more so if you get the 8GB variant of the 480!
This thing genuinely surprised me when I first used it... Even as a person who mainly uses an RTX 3080! Being simultaneously constrained by missing one of its two fans & being paired up with a weak CPU, it managed to push sometimes over 150 FPS on Minecraft Java, using the Fabulously Optimized modpack for version 1.19.4 and running Sildur's Vibrant Shaders (specifically, the Medium variant of the shaderpack) at 12 chunks rendering distance at 1080P! (With about 8 chunks for maximum shadow distance and simulation distance.)
Granted, that isn't 100% impressive by itself, even when considering the aforementioned constraints. But, it is notable that it managed that whilst consuming at most ~80 watts! I'm, of course, hoping to put this thing through much more stress than just modded Minecraft when I get the HDMI to DVI-D converter!
Of course, the last thing I should note is the VRAM. I didn't necessarily intend to get this GPU knowing about its amount of VRAM, but rather, got it because it was an amazingly low price, and I really wanted to take the chance for a working GPU at all! If I could've had an 8GB variant for this same price, I definitely would've chosen that in a heartbeat! But, even with the minimum standard for 1080P becoming 8GB in modern games, for the stuff that I'm going to be using this PC for, 4GB should do the trick just fine for a good number of years!
from completed build Black Red Scorpio Xeon
I like the hot-swappable LED fans.
from completed build RedWhiteBlue! Yet another Ryzen build (Second Build)
Can hold up by itself with pretty much any game on ultra!
from completed build 625 Gaming PC - i3 6100 | RX480 | 8 GB RAM
Good graphics card, runs games well. Should be noted that the XFX logo on the side doesn't light up, like the picture may suggest (hard to tell from just picture). Has "hard swap" fans which means that the fans are removable and you can replace them with LED fans.
from completed build I just call her "Boo"
Wow this card is powerful. I really like the switchable fan, makes customizing a lot easier. I got this card for $100 dollars, so it was a steal.
