Was recommended instead of the Arctic Silver 5, just put it on today (9/17/15) when I finally put on my Kraken and saw a 30+ degree difference. My favorite part is that it is non-corrosive and non-conductive since I have never applied thermal paste before, just in case I messed up (which I did, I got a smaller drop and didn't check it the second time though).
Well-performing thermal-paste. Nothing special to really note.
Great compound. I bought this tube with my PC and I've used it on 6 CPUs and 3 GPUs. I re-pasted two GTX 970 WF cards and the temps went down about 6c for each one. On the CPUs, the difference between stock paste and this paste was usually about 10c but that can also be attributed to bad application during the building process. A little hard to work with but very reliable.
I'm not going to try comparing it to Arctic Silver 5 because I'd have to take my PC apart. But it's doing a great job and I may smear some on my video cards one day.
I know that the TIM included with the X61 is fine, but I read that TIM should be replaced every 2-3 years on machines, so I will be using this to “freshen up” the 3570 before handing off to kids. Chose over the X-4 because it seemed to test better, and at only ~$4 price difference on amazon, I figured “what’s $4 more?”
It's Thermal Paste... great packaging and very cool temps.
10 degree drop on my GPU under load after repasting the cooler with this. Enough for many applications too. Don't bother with the stupid applicator it comes with, just use the pea method.
I like it because I can be messy. Works well too.
Seems the best thermal compound upon reviews. haven't tried other brands but this really works like a charm.
Beats Arctic Silver 5 and comes in a relatively big quantity for 12$, I've used this on multiple builds and refurbishes with significant temp advantages.
