Edit 9 Feb 2018: Screw this board and MSI, it has been nothing but a disappointment. The Mystic Light capabilities are misleading, the RAM compatibility sucked initially until the latest BIOS revision, but now it is unable to undervolt the CPU below 1.3v (also from latest BIOS). Stay away from this garbage and MSI.
Took a swing with this one as it doesn’t seem to be widely in use with no reviews (FIRST! :P) and don’t really have much of an opinion yet. Satisfaction wise it’s ok, works well and all, but trying to understand the MSI website is a mixed bag. Also, RAM compatibility with the kit I have does not reach full potential. Could’ve dinged the RAM but in this case I feel it’s more a MOBO limitation. RGB is cool when you figure out the correct program (MSI Gaming app) but limited to only a handful of simple colors, no color spectrum selector that I can find. Hopefully OC’ing will improve my perception when I get around to figuring it out.
Great-looking and very functional motherboard. Tons of fan headers, which is nice. Overclocking potential and power delivery seem to be good enough for what I'm doing. Not sure how it would keep up with a 2700X at 4.2 GHz, but it's doing its job well. The LED's are actually RGB on the Plus model (not sure about the base Tomahawk), though the picture shows only red. My only complaint is that that the MSI Gaming App is the only way to control case lighting, both on and off the motherboard (though this board does have an RGB header!), and the light effects are extremely limited. You get to pick one color and one effect (flashing, double-flash, breathe, and one or two others). Very happy overall.
