Full-size movies, lots and lots of movies.
Thank you buddy!
Nice cabling work on your rig, nice to see people taking pride in this often overlooked aspect.
It was an exciting day when I got to buy my components. But it was very long awaited...
Thank you Bud
I didn't get the fans because of the RGB capabilities. I got these particular fans because of the lighting level they produce.
You will notice on the first image of the inside that the top fans are just straight red, compare there lighting level to the ones on the front and bottom, which are the RGB's.
I got the top fans first and noticed they they produced very little light with their 4 LEDs. So I tried the RGB fans which have 12 LEDs, and yeah much better red glow!! and as a second benefit they come with a nice red lighting effects.
When I get the water cooling started I will be replacing the top fans with 140mm RGBs
There was no goal to save money on this build, that being said, I should have gotten 3 500gb ssd's
Not sure why I did 250gb
100% agree with you on this!!
It is on my list of next items to upgrade this with. not only for the reason to get rid of the out of place green light, but also because these cards run crazy hot. With the all the fans running 100% its hard to keep it at 75 degrees. And I noticed that it throttles the frequencies once the temp hits 68 degrees.
Granted it really depends on the game, Battlefield 1 ~140fps, but a game like Witcher 3 hits ~85fps and when I am running through a dense forest in Witcher 3 it drops to ~60fps.
The ML fans are slightly quieter when running high. But the don't give off much light as they only use 4 LEDs
I actually prefer the HD RGB fans. They are really bright and have 12 LEDs, then of course they have the RGB lighting controller
Witcher 3 is amazing! Thank you bro.
But dame is that game is crazy hard on the GPU's when maxed out. I cant even max out my monitors 100Hz.
It runs an average of 60-70Hz
To fully max out the Predator X34 monitor I needed dual Titan XPs.
A single GPU on maxed out games hits around 60-80Hz
LOL, thanks brotha
This is the Synology NAS operating system.
haha, Thank you.
Just busted my as to become a senior engineer in Oil&Gas and saved up for several months.
You do when your setting up a large home entertainment system. I love collecting HD Movies, TV Shows and music. I' already filled more than half.
Thank you brotha
Lol, sounds good bud
To get the M.2 recognized so that I could place the Windows boot on it. I'll be honest I took it to an expert at Memory Express to get this step configured.
After that setting up the SSD's in RAID 0 I just watched a bunch of YouTube videos. Its actually not to hard to set up.
Good Luck with your setup
I have a side hobby of collecting HD Movies, TV Shows and Music. I am already at 53% full.
LOL thanks R0xx0r!!
It has been a journey changing over. But I loved every minute of it, and just beholding the glory of the PC Master Race. I am addicted, and already looking to add more to my build.
Not at all, even running HandBrake which maxes my CPU out at 100% and overlocked to 4GHz. I can barely hear it.
The stock fans on my Titans sitting ideal run louder. What ever sound comes off the H115i cooler is drowned out by the Titans
My 3 SSD's are in my rig, and the 6 mechanical drives are in my Synology NAS.
I have to admit I've always had problems with low storage. At the time I juggled around two portable drives to hold my Music/photos and the other for Movies. But Apple in all its glory, does not like people using external drives, it caused consistent headaches for me. Most notably iTunes on a Mac, which resets your music folder location every time it losses its connection with the external drive, causing me to re-import all 60,000 songs. It drove my Nuts!!
But the reason I use soo much space is that I also love my home theater system Ive spent years building. Playing high quality music and movies at the best audio/video quality. It really is my movies that eats up my space, they average around 10G a movie. Funny thing is now that I have soo much space, I found that collecting movies and TV series has now become a hobby of mine. I love having guests over for a movie, and when asked any movie they love, that I have it.
Also I am curious. How is it running 4K with dual 1080'? Are you able to max out your monitor?
It has been quite the ride changing from Mac and joining the PC Master Race. Lovin' every minute of it.
Awesome! Thanks for let me know about Adobe lightroom, it sounds like it is exactly what I am looking for. I'll check it our right away, Cheers!
I typically go to rarbg, they seam to have a great collection of high quality blu-ray movies ranging from 15Gb-30Gb, 1080 DTS-HD.
I then use Handbrake to convert them to a standard m4v and 10-15Gb size
lol, I'll keep you mind when I look to be reed of these horrible cards :)
Thanks for the heads up on the EVGA power supply and review.
Yeah I found the I had to run the crap out of my fans to keep them under 75 degrees.
But I find that the clock will drop to 2012MHz after about an hour of hard bench marking or gaming.
I will upload a picture of my fan curve for you.
I'm look to get them water cooled, I'll repost my rig when I get her built, and I'll be sure to show the overclocking difference
Their base is at 1417MHz and they boost up to about 1910MHz. I was able to over clock them with an extra 195MHz to 2100MHz.
However, I find after about an hour of gaming or bench marking it will settle down to 2012MHz. I believe some good water cooling could solve this, and allow me to push the over clock further.
To keep this clock I have to run my fans near full out at 90-95% just to keep them at 70-75 degrees. If I hit 80 degrees the clock will suddenly drop to 1917MHz, which is pretty much back to stock.
I'll add a picture of my custom fan curve for you.
I search movie backgrounds and came across this one.
Wow, Love the lighting work. Beautiful
Beautiful hard line loop. Cant wait to build one myself
Haha, that's the same drive I had in my Mac Pro for years, and my iMac was 500Gb that I used for 13 years.
Haha, I will totally add this to my library. I'm curious what FPS I can crank out.
Could not agree more!, haha
Love your rig too. That a beautiful water cooling loop you have. You even have a motherboard block, very nice!
A custom loop is next on my build list.
Also, need to upgrade my chair. Nice all round rig and space Bud!
BTW, where did you get the carbon fiber skins?
I'll definitely get Teamspeak or Discord for my Battlefield 1 game. It would be so much better to talk to the squad.
Thank you Bro!
I was very close to getting the 6950X. But for some reason, when reviewing the builds that included it, their gaming seams to suffer slightly. Possible due to the base clock speed of 3GHz vs 3.6Ghz with the 6850K
However! I have my eye on the next generation of CPU's and I have my finger crossed for ether a 12 core or high clock 10 core.
I'm already pricing out a different PSU, when running benchmarks like 3DMark, it keeps hitting 103% capacity. I'm not what how it could be effecting my performance. But ether way I need a need to find a 1100-1200 watt PSU. I was thinking the Cyberpower OR1500PFCLCD - 1050W or the Cyberpower PR2200LCD - 1980W
LOL, proper parenting.
Wow, a lot has changed with the PC interface. The last time I really used a PC was Windows 98. This new Windows 10 took a while to relearn, and I'm still trying to catch up. It has been slower just trying to find out where they placed certain features, I know their there just no sure where.
Feel like a newb trying to just learn the basics of an operating system, haha.
But I do love the new Windows 10 over 98!!
Haha, and the same keyboard to go that desk.
It's the perfect size to fit the Predator screen and two speakers.
It's really my Plex media center I have built. When it comes to movies and TV shows, I want the best video & audio quality I could get my hands on.
After converting with Handbrake, the average movie is about 9.5GB. The Plex library is now at 768 Movies eating up about 7.3TB.
Then I have 59,000 songs and 2,000 TV shows.
LOL, Thank you bud!
The thousands I used to spend on the latest Mac Pro, compared to the capabilities of this Beast Machine.... I once was blind, but now I see.
I love the red NZXT SSD mount!
I want it
Its not so much a killer to the performance/operation. It's really aesthetics.
I look at this as my personal work of art. The new age of the High-tech Artist. and so I just want to keep my art looking new, looking great.
I having falling in love the art of custom building. So much so that I will spend over $200 on custom filters to keep it looking amazing.
Thank you brother!
I can't tell if you like the NAS or if you have a word of advice for me?
haha, Thank you Philphaser! :)
I had took a close look at using 850 Pros. But the change in performance is stupidly small from 540MB/s to 550MB/s.
And considering the fact that I was going to be putting them into a triple RAID 0. I went with the tried and true 850 EVO's.
However, that being said I will be keeping an eye out for the next level SSD.
If you had another SSD in mind, I am all ears. I'd love know if I missed a better one.
Totally agree with you Lyrix!!
I was shocked to discover that USB 3.0 cables over 3m lengths are rare?!?
I honestly did drive and/or call all the computer shops, and no one had longer lengths >:|
So at the moment I am trying to find longer USB 3.0 online that I can order, because yeah I totally agree with you.
LOL, Thank you brother!
Whats going to happen to the mortals when I get it custom water cooled?
Thank you Mimic!
