2015 07 (July) Mainstream Build

This is what I would choose at the time I wrote this if I was putting together a PC gaming system from scratch as a "mainstream" solution. The goal is to be able to run every game at high or ultra settings on a monitor at 1920 x 1080 (1080p) pixel resolution. It should even do a reasonable job - at lower graphics settings, perhaps - on at a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution monitor.

Compatibility Notes

  • The G.Skill - Ripjaws Z Series 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65 V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5 V+5% (1.575 V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5 V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.
  • Flag compatibility notes as incorrect
