I though the Sync's were mostly to improve responsiveness at lower FPS so didn't really pay it much attention. I checked and I have a g-sync monitor.

Also found a highly rated 1070 TI for about $50 less than the Vega 64 one.

Thanks guys. I went in during my lunch break to swap them they had already sold out :( Apparently there were only 6 at that price and they sold out by 2h after the store opened. Oh well lesson learned, if the sale is that good get there asap.

Did a bit of research and it seems a lot of the issues and driver problems are a lot better than last time I did this (6 years ago maybe?) so I added the 390. Seems a strait upgrade and saves $40 or so. Was worried about temps in the little case but the 2 AF120 right on the GPU should fix that. Hopefully the heat doesn't make it run louder though.

Found a PSU that was 100 watts higher for the same price so added it since the change from the 970 to 390 was causing it to be cut a bit close. Also upgraded to a higher clock speed of memory though I don't thing it matters much was only $10 more anyways.

I've had loss of bad experiences with Radeon cards and the 970 is only $20 more or so.

I've had loss of bad experiences with Radeon cards and the 970 is only $20 more or so. Never had a GeForce card die on me. Both attempts at Radeon died within 2 years.

Checked and it doesn't fit in the case unfortunately.

So I made some changes which are kinda scary. I found a Z97 board for about $5 more than the H97 one. Figure adding a liquid cooler and I should be able to overclock the 4690k just fine. Never done water cooling before but I should be able to figure it out. Over all about $60 more than the last build but seems like a whole lot more potential.

Thanks Dan.

My research on the MSI GeForce GTX 970 showed it is fairly quiet when idle. I don't mind it getting loud during gaming sessions. But want it quiet watching Netflix or what not. If thats not true let me know.

Why a 4460 vs a non K 4690?
