Ahh yeah, that random eyesore Noctua fan you got on in there, is what I'm rocking too lol Haven't updated my build on here, but I nabbed a 7700k and seen how it got hotter - so that Noctua really does its justice with replacing any other fan on a CPU cooler!

+1

Looks good dude! It's Will from Amazon hehe

That 1060 is great for 1080p gaming, I wouldn't go for a 1080 tbh for that res, you probably should wait for it to go on sale when the 2080 volta comes out so it'll be easier on the wallet when you get a higher res monitor. I know 980 ti's are on sale for like 200 on r/hardwareswap. So maybe even see how the 1080 ti's are priced! But grats on finally gtn your build together!

How is the airflow inside the case? cpu is in, gpu air is out, the top bringing it in as well?

A fellow one hander! My left hand is normal, it's my right that got messed up. And of course it had to be my frkn dominant hand >.< But the right is still there but I don't have any feeling in it from a car accident that damaged the median nerve resulting in paralysis from the center of my palm, to the thumb, to the first, middle, and ring finger. So basically I can only half @$$edly grip things, but have no idea how much pressure I'm using, or what I'm actually touching. These people don't know the struggles of putting together a pc with only one working hand do they! Literally cooked my hand once on a skillet that I had no idea was touching it... The upside is having an awesome James bond villain nickname I coined myself 'The Handyman'! :P

Good build brethren, grats on the featured!

I'm already in qeu for it on the site, you should check and see if the ftw series is letting you step up now like it is for me on the 1080 SC. it's only the ti founders ed, i dont think the ftw series ever becomes a part of SU.

Dude, for you to hook her up after all that means she must've walked over on you pretty bad lol. But yeah, had it happen to me too. I was far less gracious to say the least. You should do yourself a favor and not give a poo about her and keep this pc. Or better yet donate it to a charitable event, or a kid down the street that can't afford one or something other. She doesn't deserve a d@mn thing

Or at least write on it with a sharpie in size 60 font f-u-bh before you give it to her lol

More pictures so we can see better detail! So are you able to get online? Because I had an Alienware 17x r4 that had a lot of networking driver errors but it still would connect. Just suffered from a lower ping was all.

It's only for the motherboard, or drive you store your OS on. Mine was an OEM, and I just used the Microsoft call line to reactivate it bc I told them I changed drives for my OS. Took me like 5 minutes tops.

Personally I'm an EVGA fan boy bc of the quick turn around on rma's. Never had to do one, but it's breathing room I suppose :/

Not too sure about the other brand you listed, I'd read up on reviews and see what all of which versions make you more comfortable than others. Though odds are you're gng to get a perfectly capable 480 that'll let you play on max settings @1080p for 99% of games.

Can't knock you on a 1050ti if that's what you choose but you're losing a lot of performance for roughly the same price on the amd side.

That said, love the fact that you're teaching your boy PC mechanics! Mines 6 and is already pulling everything apart to see how it works, I let him play on mine but I've told him he isn't allowed to take it apart lol. I'm gng to build him one in a couple of years similar to this in price, but he's too into minecraft to worry about any serious gaming like his pops :)

And with a closed case build, who cares about cable management tbh. +1

I added two 120 mm LED Corsair fans in the front, and put the two case fans from nzxt in the back and on the top.

The airflow is wonderful in it. Honestly it was already pretty good with just a case fan in the bottom front and an exhaust in the back. It lowered a degree or two after inserting the others. But I just like having better circulation tbh.

LED Case fans <-- The added fans

Sorry on the late reply, been busy.

The monitor is still dng a great job, went ahead and overclocked it to 75 mhz for a smoother fluid feel in games, ad I haven't looked back ever since.

Well I literally just ordered 2 blue LED fans from corsair, and a Y pin for the header so I'll be gtn some color in it finally haha. The sleeves that I'm looking at are also blue, bc the scheme I want is snow/frozen so I'm more than sure it'll all look good w/ blue lighting w/blue cables as well.

The cables I'll worry about next check. I'm already $200+ over budget as is. So it'll be next paycheck when I get those, bc I've been adding a part every two weeks. I just finally felt that it was worth of publishing on the site. Been waiting 3 months to do it! lol

Thanks!

I'm not sure 4k will be a great max settings on games for the 1080, or at least imo. People say the 1070 was the sweetspot for 1440, but in all reality it looks like the 1080 is the best for that. There's several games that the 1080 can't max and remain @ 60 fps on 4k - which my goal was to keep the fluidity of frames on max constant for at least a couple years. Even in Dishonored 2 I'm getting frame drops already in certain places. And it's not the cpu bottleneck either, it just drops from the gpu...

Yeah, I sometimes regret not getting the i7, but my true budget was $1500. And I went over it so far, that I had to sacrifice the i7. But I've never been in a game yet that my cpu has me bottlenecked.

The word snowblind was used way before what you guys are talking about. Pretty sure they didn't trademark the name and now I have to pay a fee everytime I say/use the reference. If that's the case, then bring it on ibuypower! You'll not get a single penny from me, muahaahahaaaa

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I just called it that because it was white, and whatever you're talking about is just a coincidence I'm guessing. It was the cheapest metal case that I liked, and cheapest 1440p monitor as well. Lame? Absolutely. But I stand by my convictions of lameitude :D

Seems like doing an sli would be a waste for wow even on 4k which you aren't even using.

You're better off just waiting until the next gen of cards come out rather than even using an sli because it'll be leaps and bounds just like the 1080 was 980/etc, etc..

First off, nice 1060 build! I'm gng with the 6600k/krait3x/1080FTW build myself with this same case. Already got all of it together including 850 evo with win x and have been transferring my files from my AW 17x r4 to it for the past cple days until my 1080 gets here.

Question tho, you do know that you can take 1k to an auction and get a decent used car right? That's what i did when i was 16. Granted im 30 now, but that mazda 626 got my *** around for 5 years! haha

But anywho, looked good tho. im gng with the same case, but using the msi krait gmn 3x instead. Already got everything installed besides myy ssd and gpu, waitin on next fridays check and all!

Did you get your winX on usb through amazon, or somewhere else?
