gaming x all the way. the measurements for acoustics show it's far quieter and far cooler with those two big fans rather than the three tiny ones on asus and other mfg. overclocks for the aibs are very similar across all brands.

High 60's isn't really that bad for this setup. If you can fit another case fan in or increase case fan rpms in bios or software that'll help heaps.

yep i have nfi why the testing bench type cases aren't more popular with all of us nerds. i mean the installation and the looks alone are just so much better than towers.

digitalfoundry had an interesting live fps analysis and showed that with the high frequency ram, OC sandy bridge is very similar to skylake. imo only reason to upgrade is either for more cores like e937 said or for usbc, more lanes etc (mobo/platform features)

from what i've read on the 6700k it's usually 6-10 celsius. intel using cheap TIM unfortunately

Probably for looks. You are correct in saying that Z170 boards optimally should have 2 x 16gb. Although it's not a huge perf difference

maybe he does some editing also? also why not max out ram for $100, it's not a lot of money to some people. the second gtx 1080 will help for 4k frame rates too, if he's going down that route
