If I do get a VR headset, it'll probably be the Rift. I just don't have the space to set up a Vive, and all of those games seem a little repetitive. The Oculus simply takes games (or concepts) that are already here, and makes them more immersive. I'm not saying this to knock the Vive, it seems really cool. But I'd just rather have the Rift.

Cool. Let us know with the results! And don't be scared about messing with the voltage, you want it as low as possible while still being stable, just bring it down in gentle increments (like .01 at a time.) and you'll be fine.

The RX 480's will be out by the end of this month, and they should push VR pretty dang good. I mean, one beats a GTX 980 just slightly, and there's two of the 480's for the price of one 980.

Mine has steadily dropped at idle, from around 35 (go figure) to about 29-30. My IBT says it isn't stable, but I haven't had a single bluescreen or any weird things happen, so I'm just gonna leave it at that.

In all seriousness though, the "Revenge" section is probably my favorite.

I worked on my manager's computer a while back. While waiting for an operation to complete, I was idly spinning the cursor around the screen, as many do. My manager asked why techs often seem to do that.

"Oh," I said, "sometimes you have to spin the mouse around in a clockwise direction to wind it up. You don't have to do it very often, but we usually do it while we're working on other things to save time."

The manager swallowed the story, and my co-workers and I had a good chuckle about it later.

A few days later, another of our guys was working on the same machine. The manager caught him moving the cursor around while he was waiting on the computer to finish something.

"Why are you spinning the cursor counterclockwise?" the manager asked.

Without missing a beat, he replied, "Every so often, they get wound up too tight, and you have to unwind them."

Terribly. 4.0Ghz hit 89C. Since then I've undervolted (1.19V) and gotten a new cooler. I still need to do a proper stress test to check temps.

He thought one 470 would run 3 monitors? If you upgrade the cards then you won't need another install disk. The only time you need one is if you change processors, (Someone else can probably elaborate on that for me.) but I'm not sure. If you can wait 'til the end of the month then you could get an AMD RX 480. It's going to be about equal to the GTX 980 performance wise, while about half the price as well. If your budget's high enough you could get two and go Crossfire. Speaking of which, what is your budget?

Not sure I understand this. Hertz is the refresh rate of your monitor. If you have a 30hz monitor, then you can get 120 FPS, but your monitor will only show 30 FPS. Some with 60hz, It'll only show up to 60 FPS.

Why not get a 480? It's supposed to GTX 980 level performance, at just about 20 bucks more than a 960.

If there are any wires that you're not exactly sure where they go, then look it up. The motherboard's manual has a very detailed header map, (don't remember the proper phrase) it shows all the headers and names them. I'm not sure what would happen if you plugged in something that's not a fan into one of the fan headers on the MOBO, but I don't think you wanna find out. Make sure your RAM is seated fully, the levers on the RAM slots should click into the sides of the RAM. Double check everything and then BOOT! Have fun!
