Comment reply on GrafPerformance's Completed Build: Silent PC – formerly Game „Cube“ - Reimagined

Thanks for the kind words. I just want to say that I wanted to make it all AMD again or use a 1060 (because I have a 1440p screen and want I am playing in 1440p) but the 1050Ti was such a bargain that I had to buy it and use it.

But as you said, they work perfect together.

I can hear it when I am doing nothing, but it is on such a low noise level that when i type or do something else I can't hear it anymore.

Thank you. Yeah it is a blending of parts I have and parts I can afford. It costed about 805 € as it is which would now be 980 US$.

It is doing quite well, i have a custom fan curve for the 1050 Ti so it stays around 60°C most of the time.

I am perfectly fine with it. It does not run at 60 FPS but i could not care less about that.

The PC of my brother is also a FM2 build (my old pc and first build).

Thank you for all the kindness.

I know FM2 is not the best nor the most modern socket generation, but i wanted to keep cost down and it is good enough for me.

The Game "Cube" was a black and red themed build so i kept some ideas from that PC.

My next build or rebuild will be a then new and modern socket.

Thanks for the +1.

The finishing date was today. I got the Cooler today, and thought of it as it is finished now. I should have named it Game "Cube" Rebuild.

Thanks. I had a used ASRock board in my first build and i didn't want to spend that much money, that is also the reason why it is a AMD and not an Intel build.

At the moment i don't relly want to tinker with the PC. I will look into overclocking at a later date. The motherboard is not that bad, i mean it is no ASUS ROG motherboard but it does it's job very good.

I know that it doesn't really matter which brand of RAM someone uses.

It is from Elixir, a brand that is not even listed here on PPP and a memory change would cost around 40 € so it is not a big deal.

Thanks, i appreciate that.

It should fit in The Holy Dust an in the other one with the old cooler. I think i will go with a low profile Noctua cooler for Marshmallow, so that i don't have clearance issues.

We are constantly thinking about a 2nd wave of upgrades but we have cars as our 2nd passion, which is not a cheap passion. ;-)

I am already searching for CPU coolers because Marshmallow needs a better one and the old one from a friend is kind of broken. I thought about Hyper 212 Evo. The Holy Dust will not be overclocked because he doesn't need it.

And i am always looking for a nice deal for the next upgrades.

He is not the big gamer anymore but it still runs them in decent quality. It would benefit from a newer graphics card and some RAM sticks from a decent brand, but right now it is not to shaby.

I used white spirit, a brush and patience. The white spirit was only heavily used on the cooler. For the remainder i put some on a cloth and wiped everything down.

I don't know if it would support crossfire. But there is something wrong with the chip because the PC will not show me its graphics chip. -.-

Edit: I know for sure it doesn't support PCIe 3.0 so its bottlenecking the 260X

I want to write a review about it but in three weeks i have a big exam. Some initial impressions are: It is a good built case but also a cheap built case. Out of the box it would be more suited for silent components like one of the Thermalright Macho CPU coolers. NO noise dampening (just rubber feet at the bottom and rubber standoffs for the power-supply. But all in all a nice case. I would buy it again but only for max 40 € not more.

I thought about that, but first think i would need a new CPU because the A4-4000 doesn't support crossfire and doesn't has enough "umpf" in general.

Thanks. The WD Green was from my external Hard Drive for the Mac. I used it to keep the costs down. It runs fine but not perfect but i did't expect it to do that.
