brac108's Completed Build: Project RedEye

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 32 months ago

Yeah, I tried overclocking with my CX600M when I first built my pc with a 4790k and my computer just kept shutting down. Only staying at stock speeds was when it stopped. Really regret skipping out on a psu.

MaliciousKen's Completed Build: The Malicious

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 33 months ago

Nice build! Literally saw this on instagram a minute ago.

paulledesmajr's Completed Build: My Eleanor

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 33 months ago

Nice build man. Parts chosen are really solid. Let us know about the performance of that 390 please, it seems like a beastly card.

Mike0331's Completed Build: First Gaming PC build (Beast for under 900)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 3 points 33 months ago

Nice build. Great processor, awesome psu, good gpu, and a decent mother board that'll get the job done.

The SSD is meh. Compared to a standard mechanical hard drive, it's very fast. However, you could've gotten a Sandisk SSD PLUS 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive for about 3 dollars cheaper (I know it isn't much but ya know anything that saves money is a plus, at least for me) that offers better performance. Great build overall though!

sendekyo's Completed Build: Frugal Power v1.5

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 33 months ago

This build is bottlenecked, but OCing should close a small part of that gap. HOWEVER, a DUAL CORE, even running at maximum OC speed will not even be able to get the 970 to its full potential. The 970 is power hungry (and I don't mean wattage wise). Sure they'll "run fine", but you will not get to experience it's full capacity.

chion273's Completed Build: FPS Worshipper

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 34 months ago

This is a very nice build, but the PSU was a very bad choice. The CX and CXM series are tier 4 PSUs and aren't very reliable. If you have the money, switch over to an EVGA G2 series psu. Overall though, good job on the build.

lousydude's Completed Build: The reckless HTPC build

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 34 months ago

Yeah, they have insane prices. Probably the #1 reason for it being number 5 on the list of most expensive places to live.

Exit_Bag's Completed Build: Custom Wood Case - Micro ATX - i5 4690k - GTX 970

Grid_Knight 1 Build 3 points 34 months ago

The EVGA G2 PSU series has gotten a 9.6/10 rating from JonnyGuru, so if you have the money, you should definitely get it. I have the same PSU as you do, and it hasn't failed me (yet at least) so it shouldn't be too much of a worry, but I do recommend a replacement. I'm looking into one as well and found this and thought I'd share. Other than that, this is a great build with good part selection

sonnyhoang89's Completed Build: Asuna Build

Grid_Knight 1 Build -1 points 36 months ago

Lol you and I have the same title build! SAO FTW

TheDeskGuy's Completed Build: The Ultimate Gaming Desk

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

It's not like it'll completely destroy the computer right? Cause I've had one for maybe 3 months now, so.....

nithin2e's Completed Build: Noisiboy

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Nice build. Just adjust your ram so each dim is put in every other slot to take advantage of dual channel memory.

spockdoesanything's Completed Build: Gaming/Editing workstation!

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

As a person with a build using a CX series psu, I'd have to disagree because mine has performed really well.

orairwolf's Completed Build: I have a problem 2.0 Extreme Edition

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Nice build. But really, you got the 750D and that case has pretty much everything you need for cable management and you didn't utilize it.

SuPeRMiNoR2's Completed Build: GLaDOS

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Nice build. But instead of the 970 go for the r9 390. $20 cheaper and outperforms the 970.

chella's Completed Build: My First Gaming Build

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

That too. I tend to just use the 970 as an example as it's the go to card these days.

chella's Completed Build: My First Gaming Build

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 38 months ago

Nice build. But, just imo, you should've only gotten 16GB Ram and a cheaper Z97 motherboard so that money could be used for a 970.

toaster98's Completed Build: Another 4690K/GTX 970 first time build

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Nice build. But why are you using a K series processor with an H970 Mobo?

Pahjay's Completed Build: My take on the stormtrooper look

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Nice build! I actually thought you somehow replaced the tubes on the H100i GTX with other tubes, then I read the description and was like "Ohhhhh"

OGxDJANGO's Completed Build: AMD 9590 (aka Deuce 7)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Yes definitely. At the clock speed, the 212 should be able to handle it safer. Past 5.0 Ghz and above, it's a fire hazard.

OGxDJANGO's Completed Build: AMD 9590 (aka Deuce 7)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 38 months ago

This is a nice build, but I HIGHLY recommend that you use liquid coolers on that FX-9590 of yours. A lot of people have tried to use even the best air coolers to try and air cool that thing only to have it end up in flames. If you don't want a fire hazard, replace that hyper 212 evo with a closed loop water system (I understand your fear of water near your hardware, but I use a H100i liquid cooler and all is fine). I'm telling you man, you don't want your pride and joy to end up in flames.

AlexMena's Completed Build: Yggdrasil, the super budget machine

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Nice build! If you're looking for cases, look to Corsair and Cooler Master. They make really good cases.

manquake's Completed Build: Work in progress

Grid_Knight 1 Build 3 points 39 months ago

This is a nice build. If you're looking for a cheap cooler, go with the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo. If you want something more pricey that can also perform better, go with a closed loop water cooler like the Corsair H100i. Don't SLI the 760's, just get a 970.

djuban's Completed Build: Sleepless Nights

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 39 months ago

Nice build! By the way, with the graphics problem, you had to uninstall onboard graphics by intel, then put in the graphics card.

boodlu's Completed Build: First build (17th Birthday Gift)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

This is a cool build and all, but I think you should've done more research and you could've built a better rig for the same price.

Wolfe_oX's Completed Build: First Build!

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 39 months ago

This is a pretty beastly build. The H100i is a good cooler but won't be able to cool at 5.5 as what your processor was. Probably something like a swiftech water cooler or custom water loop would probably only do the trick. Again nice build! +1

AkimboGogurts's Completed Build: Newest Performance Gaming Build, Style and Performance.

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 39 months ago

This is such a powerful build and clean and stylish at the same time! +1

Grid_Knight's Completed Build: Asuna

Grid_Knight submitter 1 Build 2 points 39 months ago

Lol thanks!! I might get it depending if I have permission , or if a NerveGear comes out XD

Grid_Knight's Completed Build: Asuna

Grid_Knight submitter 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

Thank you!

PrinceKhale's Completed Build: Deepcool Breeze

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

Wow. Cheap, but still powerful. Great job man!

ledzep's Completed Build: First Gaming Rig

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 39 months ago

This is a decent build. You could've done better with this price though.

Bass_Wubzington's Completed Build: Operation Valkyrie (Very First Build)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

Very nice build. I like the blue LED fans. How is the cooler master cm storm devastator?

mmatieu's Completed Build: Meet McRawrJubilee

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 39 months ago

This a decent build. It seems that it's working out for you and getting everything you need done. When you build a computer next time, do some research first though. At almost $1000 you could've made a better pc, but none the less, great job for a first timer.

SwissLinias's Completed Build: Valkyrie (1st PC build)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 40 months ago

This is a very, VERY nice build. The specs are guaranteed to hold out into the future. However, if you have a K series processor, you should overclock it because 1. That's what it's made for and 2. You'll get a boost in performance. Really jealous of that titan x lol.

CaBcannon2000's Completed Build: First computer build

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

You could have built a better pc with this budget. The A6 is a huge bottleneck to the 960. You should've gone with the AMD FX-6300 and 270x along with a corsair cx600 psu.

bgusenkov's Completed Build: 4k Video Editing Beast

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

I'm guessing he does rendering as well and a bunch of other stuff. Maybe the high end stuff is like a future-proof thing.

Dominatro's Completed Build: $1500 Budget Build

Grid_Knight 1 Build 2 points 40 months ago

Very nice build, but turn the cpu fan not facing the exhaust fan, so instead of it facing left, make it face right.

SwillDaPro's Completed Build: The White Wind

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Very nice build. And the NZXT S340 is known to scratch easily.

dankmaymay's Completed Build: Corsair 330R Custom Gaming Computer (No GPU)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 3 points 40 months ago

Very nice build. However, if you got a Cooler Master 212 Evo, 8 gigs of corsair vengeance ram (which is still good), didn't buy the ssd, and got a cheaper psu, you could've afforded the 970.

Biggage's Completed Build: No Signal

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Nice build. One question though, why not a 4690k?

tvi016's Completed Build: The white panther - My first build

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

I believe it's the Corsair K70

Kmak's Completed Build: Team Canada, Going for Gold

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Nice build man! Looks great. Cable management is excellent. I think I'll look into a swiftech as well for my build.

Maebus34's Completed Build: Blue Battalion (1st Build)

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Why not get an MSI Radeon R9 270? Overall a great build though!

oldgregggggg's Completed Build: White (and Blue) is the new Black

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

How'd you install your os without an optical drive? Forgive me for not knowing xD

SJ-MULLIGAN's Completed Build: Scott's RED DWARF i7-4790K - R9 295x2 - H1000i - HX1000i -My First Ever PC Build- 25/04/2015

Grid_Knight 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Nice. Just the cables need a bit of organizing.
