I've read a multitude of accounts of issues such as badly diminished framerates, the pcie slot going from x16 to x8, screen anomolies when using the graphics card's outputs, and other such problems when using the included riser cable
Is the kraken performing well in this case? How are temps? I know this case isn't the greatest when it comes to airflow so I'm considering an aio for the cpu as well as an EVGA hybrid card. Do you think this case could accommodate BOTH of those coolers?
I must also ask: how did your kraken fit? In my parts list, I'm alerted that the kraken and the Shift are incompatible. Corroborating this, look at this guy's build description https://pcpartpicker.com/b/pYQZxr . He had to leave his glass practically OFF to fit that kraken radiator.
Also, any issues with the riser cable not playing well with the GPU?
Did you have any issues with the GPU/riser cable playing nicely together? I've seen numerous posts online about issue there and am asking out of caution because I'd like to spare myself an unnecessary headache
Hey. Nice build man. I have to ask: did you have any issues with the riser cable for the gpu?
Hey, bud. I'm back again. Major isuues I'm having, but I'd be glad if you heard me out and I'd be thankful for any input if you have any...
Same CPU, Mobo, RAM, and (almost) same (evga 1080) GPU as you. Had issues trying to get it to display anything for the boot process. Swapped ram and GPU with those of my build, and got display for the OS install, but had terrible problems with performance in windows as well as mouse/keyboard registration. Thought to just shut down and get the MOBO BIOS update using my PC on a USB, but now I can't get the Ryzen rig to boot or post anything, even with swapping GPU, RAM, and display cables.
I believe my brother was telling me he checked the MOBO and saw LEDs which indicate issues with the CPU and or RAM. Did you have any such issues? Really just want this build to be functional. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Hey there. Glad to see a similar build to the one I just made for my little brother. I'm having catastrophic issues though, such as not getting any video output. It worked finally and that's when I installed the OS, but was having performance issues and no mouse/keyboard input recognition. Shut it down and now no video out again.
Did you have any issues such as these? I have a feeling it's my RAM, as I have the same as you (perhaps only 3000mhz), same motherboard as yours, but with a 1600 instead of 1700. Hoping you had similar problems and resolved them. Thanks for any response
Hey, bud. I'm reaching out to you to see how your Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard and Gskill 3200 rgb are playing together. I ordered that Mobo a couple weeks ago, and just ordered that same 3200 rgb Gskill as it's on sale at the time of this post for $159 (which may not sound much like a sale price, but that's down from over $200 for 16gb.)
So yeah, how's your system running? What frequency is your ram running at?
I'm doing a Ryzen build for my little brother and have the same CPU/Mobo you have, but held off on the RAM purchase as I've ran into questions. I want rgb for him. How's your ram doing for you? Have the memory issues been resolved? What frequency are you getting?
Is that gskill trident z working well for you? I'm doing a Ryzen build for my little bro and have the same CPU/Mobo you have, but have run into the RAM question recently and am worried about which to get. Don't want him to have issues. What frequencies are working for you?
